Here Come the Men In Black

By LT Hockey 11/27/2015, 3:30pm CST

LT Hockey recently held its annual "Men in Black" ceremony for its Varsity and four year Senior players. Each member of the team, plus any four year senior, gets this special third jersey. This jersey is meant to motivate and give recognition to these players and to our hockey program.

The crossed sticks behind the roaring lion represent the face-off, the beginning of each game. The flying puck in "LIONS" represents the speed and motion of the game. The heart shaped tongue represents the commitment that playing hockey requires. Finally the classic look of the sweater is modeled after one of the original six teams, the Toronto maple Leafs, in the birthplace of hockey.

The LT patch on each shoulder represents the burden of representing both their high school as well as the hockey club, teammates and themselves. The numbers on the sleeve and the back of the jersey show their pride in every direction. The skull and crossbones represent brotherhood. Finally, the "CH"is worn in honor of former LT player Christopher Holec, who tragically passed away due to Hodgkin's Disease a week prior to his 24th birthday. A scholarship is awarded to a deserving senior who typifies Chris' leadership, athletic excellence, loyalty and strong family values.

It is safe to say that each member of the club who receives this jersey is honored to wear it for the LT Hockey Club.
