USA Hockey has adopted a Body Checking Standard of Play and Rule Emphasis for immediate implementation at all levels of play with a goal of reducing intimidating infractions. Checks must meet specific criteria in these categories:

• Body Checking (when it's not ok to check)
• Boarding
• Charging
• Checking from Behind
• Head Contact
• Roughing

You should anticipate that these new standards will be strictly enforced by officials in the upcoming season.

Players and parents -- please take some time to review the standards, which are slated to remain in effect through the 2016 - 2017 season.
