Meet Luke Bolinski, a young Minnesota hockey fan who reached out to LT head coach Sean Nicholson to help him with his hockey puck collection. Luke and his family started traveling and following NHL, IHL, and now high school teams. He has a passion for hockey pucks so his dad, Michael, contacted clubs around the country to see if he could grow the collection from faraway teams. Michael said "Getting a puck in the mail is like Christmas morning to Luke!" We are honored to be a part of this super hockey fan's collection!
Varsity and JV teams participated in the Firestorm Tournament in Indianapolis over the weekend. Both Varsity and JV went 3-2 and finished second place in their respective divisions. It was a great tournament and a job well done by both teams! Way to go LT!
Lyons Township Hockey Club marched in LT's Homecoming Parade on Saturday. LTHC's float, which was based on the theme of the Roaring Twenties won Best Overall Float and Best Theme Adaptation! Way to go LTHC, and a special thanks to the parents who worked tirelessly on creating the float!!!
Varsity went 3-1 during the Gator Cup Tournament, falling in the finals to arch rival Hinsdale Central. Varsity defeated Lake Forest Gold, Evanston and PREP on their way to the Gator Cup finals. What a way to start the season!

LT Hockey alum, Josh Misiewicz, who also served our nation in Afghanistan, was named to the 2017-18 U.S. National Sled Hockey team that will compete in the 2018 Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea from March 8-18.. This is a great opportunity for Josh, who not only is a great hockey player, but a genuine American hero. Congratulations on this great honor and thank you for your service.
Congrats to LTHC's John Sommerfeld (Senior) on this great achievement!
HALF DOZEN PERFECT ACT SCORES FOR CLASS OF '18
Congratulations to soon-to-be seniors Ian Flueck, Charles Mavon, Max Ryser, Lydia Olson, Renata Schmidt and John Sommerfeld for earning the highest composite score possible on the ACT college admission and placement exam taken last spring. On average, less than one-tenth of one percent of all test takers earns the top score. Nationwide only 1,162 of more than 1.8 million students earned a composite score of 36.
The ACT is comprised of tests in English, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning. Each test is scored on a scale of 1-36, and a student's score is the average of the four tests. Scores are evidence of their readiness for the academic rigor they will find in college.
LT will not be administering a district-wide ACT this school year, but rather, the SAT will be given to all juniors on April 10.
LTHC held an "oldies" reunion alumni game on March 18, 2017. LTHC alums travelled from as far as New Hampshire to lace it up with other former LTHC players. A great time was had by all! Fortunately, no one hurt themselves too badly!!!

The Captain Spotlight is a youth hockey initiative that features four local high school hockey captains per month. These captains are invited to a Blackhawks game and are interviewed on the defining characteristics of what makes a good leader. With the Illinois High School Hockey Championships coming up, Blackhawks Youth Hockey wanted to take a closer look at what it takes to be captain of a high school hockey team.
Congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks January Captains: Jack Thoms (Lyons Township Hockey Club, Caitlin Moran (Warren Blue Devils) and Luke Phillips (Lincoln-Way)

2017 LTHC Alumni Game
On a cold and snowy mid-December Friday night under the lights of the Bobby Hull Community Ice Rink in Cicero, the host Lyons Township Lions, the Hinsdale Central Red Devils and their fans came together to continue its Winter Classic game tradition and raise funds for a worthy charitable cause.
The Lions wore special military themed uniforms in recognition of its “Salute to Service” initiative and along with Hinsdale Central raised more than $750 for the Semper Fi Foundation. The foundation provides a number of support services for Marines and their families including health and wellness support, educational scholarships, online family resources and continues to raise public awareness for the need to support these servicemen and women and their families.
Lyons Township Hockey Club honored two alumni who served their country in the military:
Hinsdale Central prevailed in both contests winning the JV game 3-1 and the Varsity game 3-2 in OT.
LTHC is excited to be a part of the LT Student Council Secret Santa program this year. The program works hand in hand with the Community Nurse Health Association to provide underprivileged children in our community with gifts this Holiday Season. The Secret Santa program benefits over 1,000 children in the LT area. Varsity and JV players/families donated towards the cause and then met at Target to purchase the gifts. What a great turnout! Thanks to Nikki White and Erin Ales for organizing a great philanthropic outing.

The 2016 Lyons Township Homecoming parade may have been washed out, but LTHC was there to celebrate in style. Our float was ready to go when the skies opened and the parade was cancelled. Varsity and JV players alike braved the weather to celebrate LT's homecoming. Hopefully next year will be drier. Thank you however to the parents that worked hard organizing and building the float, despite the wash out. It looked awesome!!
Lyons Township Hockey Club began its Illinois West schedule Sunday night against Lincoln Way at Arctic Ice Arena. Varsity dropped a tough one 5-3, despite goals from Alex Conger, Josh Rich and Andrew Korallus. The boys played tough, despite the outcome.

Congratulations to LTHC's Logan Fennema on his signing with the St. Louis Jr. Blues. This is a great opportunity for Logan, while we will miss him on the ice for LT, we are very proud of this great accomplishment and hope for the best for him in St. Louis. This shows what hard work and perseverance can do for someone with lofty goals. This is what most hockey players look to achieve and is now a reality for one of LT's very own. Way to go #91!!!!! You will be missed!
